It’s great to see that you can now use simple “type as it sounds”, phonetic keyboards with Indic languages (which include Nepali) on Windows, in addition to the more traditional keyboards and the INSCRIPT one that have been there a long time.

Many of us have used Keyman in the past, and then switched to “InKey”, two tools that have served us well, however if this is something that will be coming to every future windows computer, then it is indeed good news for regional and even local language typing (when regional scripts can be used).

Note: to get this feature, you have to install the Windows feature update, specifically, the most recent one as of the time of wrting (number 1909)

I have only just installed it, and not given it a thorough test, but I already like the way spelling items “pop-up”, much the way the Google keyboards function.

Spread the word to any new/potential writers of these languages and scripts!
